Page 34“At her age....gold, and diamonds.” Higgins is telling Eliza that her life can be full of better and more exiting things. She can ride in a taxi all day long and be able to ride in one all the time. She can have all kinds of chocolate and eat them when she wants. She can all the jewelry she wants. She can all kinds of it. She can buy it gold and add diamonds. Eliza can have a better future if she just makes the decision of taking the lessons.
Important Passage 2
Page 42“Well, the truth...Eliza to me?” Eliza's father came to sell his daughter to the professor. The whole time he was chatting with him his only purpose was to get money. He does not care for his daughter all he cares is for himself. The professor could not have had a clue but he could not possibly do anything about it afterwords. That man is a horrible father how can he just sell his daughter and for so little money.

ReplyDeleteI agree with you on passage number one because it is true that she is going to have that option to do all those things she wants after she is transformed into a formal lady.
ReplyDeleteI agree with you on passage number two also because the act of him trying to sell his daughter is inhuman and disrespectful to her. Nobody should try to sell their children for no amount of money whether its a large amount of money or a little bit.

ReplyDeleteI agree that the first passage is important because that is how they are telling her that her life is going to change, for a better life. I also agree with the second passage too because it is very messed up of the father to sell her daughter like that. And also it shows that the father doesn't care about his daughter, but for the money he does.
