The characters in act 1 are Freddy Eynsford Hill, Eliza Doolittle, Colonel Pickering,Professor Henry Higgins. At the setting it is raining hard and they are all together under the portico of St. Paul's Church in Covent Garden. The conflict is that Elizabeth, the flower girl, was offended at the fact that Professor Henry Higgins was taking notes of her speaking. She thought that she was going to get in trouble. He however was taking notes for his profession. The professor will most likely help Elizabeth and fall in love with her simple ways. Also, he will learn to see beyond others appearance and appreciate others' around him.
I also think that the professor is going to help her and fall in love with her because at the end of the first chapter it looks like she is going to go to his house in a taxi. I think he is also going to appreciate others because if he falls in love with her, i think he is going to change his ways.
ReplyDeleteThe Professor said in act 1 that he would be able to change the flower girl's attitude and accent in three months if he wanted to, so she will most likely ask him for help. I don't think the professor will change his ways and see beyond other appearance because that is just the way he is, and it would be very difficult for him to change that.
